As if the spate of graduation shows and end of year exhibitions going on at the moment wasn’t enough for you, a bunch of recent painting graduates have organised their own show at Cross Street Studios called We have No Self Control.

I’ve only seen work from a few of these artists, but what I have seen is pretty awesome. I can only assume that what I haven’t seen is equally awesome. Why would you assume otherwise? It just seems mean.

Are we seeing the beginning of a trend of elite groups of graduates running off and organising their own shows (see our coverage of 9D, or their own website) outside of academic confines? I hope so. For all that university provides the foundations for a career in the creative arts, progression past that ultimately has to be self-motivated.
Anyway, that’s what this lot have done. Come along and have a look.
