Satellite Gallery are putting on a show of work from Chilean artist Chadid at the end of this month called Sur Ataka.

This is Chadid’s first solo show in New Zealand. Described in the press release we got from Satellite as a “graphic injection of satire”, his work is a vibrant mix of characters and colour and text that blends into his own brand of “graffiti-like expressionism”.

The pictures of his work I managed to dig up on the interweb have peaked my interest but I’m sure don’t do the originals justice, and I’m very keen to see them in the flesh, so to speak. The opening of the exhibition is Tuesday 29th of July at 5.30, and the show runs until the 10th of August.
