Metonymy Fundraiser – Poetry Slam May 1st

The Metonymy project is quickly heading towards fruition and the exhibition that involves, and so to raise some money to cover this they're holding a Poetry Slam.

Some of you will already be well aware of Metonymy, in fact some of you will be taking part (and probably stressing a little at the impending deadline – at least I hope so, I'd hate to think that it was just me). For those that aren't, Metonymy is a collaborative art project that pairs-up artists from different mediums and encourages them to work together to create something that is new and exciting. The work produced by these pairings will then be presented in an exhibition.

To raise money to cover the exhibition space Metonymy are holding a Poetry Slam on May 1st at London Bar. This will be a poetry tournament, with the audience helping to select the winner. Overseen by Slammistress Renee (who some may know from Poetry Live, among other things) and Slam Champion Christian Jensen, the evening promises to amaze, thrill, delight, disgust or awe (according to the website).

The Poetry Slam starts 8pm, Thursday May 1st and is being held at London Bar. Entry is just $10 and if you want to compete it's $5 entry and first in best dressed, so don't miss out! This is for a good cause so go along and show your support. And you'll probably enjoy it too.
